UPDATE: Willie Revillame has apologized for the remarks, according to this INQUIRER.net story. Meanwhile, the online petition launched by irate viewers and Internet users against Revillame has gathered 7,309 signatures, as of this writing.
Here’s a clip posted on YouTube of Willie Revillame, host of the popular ABS-CBN noontime show “Wowowee,” reacting to the video of former Philippine president Corazon “Cory” Aquino’s cortege.
Aquino’s remains were transferred yesterday from La Salle Greenhills to Manila Cathedral, and thousands of Filipinos lined the streets to catch a glimpse of the procession/convoy and pay their respects. ABS-CBN, which by the way is the “official broadcast partner of the Aquino family,” was covering the cortege on TV and livestreaming it on the Web.
When “Wowowee” started airing, ABS-CBN showed the video of the Aquino cortege as an inset.

I have no means to let Kris know this but through you so please convey this message to her for us(her mom and her family’s supporters). Pls tell her that she should have not put to rest the issue of what that moron did during the cortege of her mom. I know that she(Kris) has a very forgiving heart but what the host did was a slapped and very disrespectful not only to her and her family, not only to the Filipino people who still support her mom’s legacy but most to her Mom who held the highest position in our country! Sana ang mga pilipino maging open mind. tama lang naman ang ginawa niya, ah. sikat siya dahil tunay siya. the show must go on. kung talagang may utang na loob ang mga lopezes sa mga aquino, eh di ini cancel muna nila ang show ni willie sa araw na yon at pina special broadcast live ang libing ni ate cory. oh, talaga naman sigurong talking business sila, marami sigurong endorsement ang show ni willie than sa pag broadcast ng libing. so, they can’t take that chance to lose that day, so isingit nga lamang ang “libing”. ilagay sa lugar. 2 mistakes of abs-cbn were: no respect for willie and no respect for ate cory. don’t conclude so fast. listen to all the words that willie said. nagpaki pa nga ang tao eh, insulto ‘yon sa kanya at malaking insulto rin sa mga aquino. ito sa akin lang ito – huwag lang magalit ang matamaan. naguusap lang tayo.
