Obama: “I have never used Twitter”

Check out my CNET Asia blog post on US President Barack Obama’s town hall meeting in Shanghai.

Here’s an excerpt.

One of the interesting things to come out of his just concluded town hall meeting in Shanghai was US President Barack Obama’s admission: “I have never used Twitter”.

Obama casually divulged this while answering a question about the Great Firewall of China in this historic town meeting between the US president and Chinese students, which was livestreamed by the White House, with a discussion on Facebook via Facebook Connect.

Filipino blogger-turned-legislator on role of youth and New Media in politics

It’s already a cliche to talk about the apathy of the youth, but blogger and Philippine House of Representatives congressman Raymond “Mong” Palatino would be the first to dispute this.

Not only did Kabataan Partylist, of which he is president and top nominee, make history as the country’s first elected youth group to win a seat in Congress under the partylist system, but Palatino is also the first blogger to become a national legislator in the Philippines.
