Yahoo! Philippines taps Flickr to help find missing Ondoy, Pepeng victims

Once more attesting to the fact that social media can be used for socially relevant causes, Yahoo! Philippines has tapped Flickr to create an online photo database of missing persons.

This initiative aims to help families find their loved ones who are still missing as a result of the floods spawned by the typhoons that recently devastated the Philippines, Ondoy (international codename: Ketsana) and Pepeng (Parma).

Not even CNN’s aggressive TV push could stop the Web from winning. So I guess you could say we Punk’d CNN :) Malaria no more!
