WWE Superstars preview: Rey Mysterio vs Mike Knox

Aug 06 2009 Published by Joey Alarilla under Uncategorized

As everyone who knows me is well aware, I’m a big fan of pro wrestling, particularly World Wrestling Entertainment. So it’s great that starting today, I’ll be able to give regular weekly updates on WWE Superstars.

WWE Superstars is an hour-long show that airs exclusively on WGN America, and what makes it unique is that it features Superstars and Divas from all three of the WWE brands: Raw, ECW and SmackDown.

Check out the WWE Superstars video.

Here’s the teaser from WGN America for this week’s episode.

Intercontinental Champion Rey Mysterio will find himself in a hairy situation when he faces the monstrous Mike Knox on WWE Superstars. Can the Ultimate Underdog pull off another impossible victory? Find out on Thursday 8p east | 8p west on WGN America!

If you’re on Twitter, you might also want to follow @wgnamericathurs You can also check out the WGN America WWE Superstars Facebook Page. You can interact with other fans on Twitter and Facebook and join in the fun, including trivia questions that test your WWE knowledge.

So, who am I rooting for? Rey Mysterio, of course. Heck, does anyone ever root for Mike Knox, heh.

I really wish I could have gone to the Araneta Coliseum last night to watch the Superstars and Divas of World Wrestling Entertainment’s SmackDown and ECW brands.

Anyway, like me, a lot of the people in last night’s crowd seem to be big Chris Jericho fans, based on this account from reader Ramon Miguel Cervantes at ProWrestling.net.

Here’s an excerpt from his ProWrestling.net report.

Jericho came out to a great pop. Seriously, there were so many fans that love him here. I brought a sign that said “SD! is Jericho” and he smirked when he saw it. There were Y2J chants that were very loud. He tried to cut a heel promo (the same “You can _____ all you want because you’re all hypocrites, I’m the best in the world at what I do, I guarantee you won’t see the 619 and I will unmask him” stuff) but we were still cheering for him. A lot of signs that read, “Hypocrite,” with an arrow pointing to themselves were in the arena. You could see it in his face, he was genuinely surprised to be so over. Rey got a nice response too. He said hi to a few masked fans. Steamboat was well respected as well.
