Like many Filipinos, I’m eagerly awaiting the epic clash this Sunday, Nov. 15 (Saturday, Nov. 14 in the US) between boxing’s pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao of the Philippines and dangerous Miguel Cotto of Puerto Rico.

The good news is that you can watch the fight live online with no commercial breaks. This is thanks to Smart’s SandBox service and PLDT WatchPad, with the live video stream starting 9 am on Sunday.

The free live video stream on SandBox is exclusive to SandBox-registered SmartBro subscribers and is limited to the first 5, 000 viewers. You can check out this event page on Facebook for more details.

Meanwhile, the PLDT WatchPad live video stream is free for PLDT myDSL subscribers. Visit PLDT WatchPad for more details and to install the client. You’ll be happy to know that you can watch a lot of channels for free on PLDT WatchPad.

Oh, and shameless plug, our company, Level Up!, is providing video content to PLDT WatchPad’s myView channel, and games for its myArcade page. PLDT WatchPad also offered a free live video stream of Level Up! Live 2009, the biggest online gaming event in the Philippines, on myView on Nov. 7 and 8.

Fil-Am world boxing champ Brian Viloria covers Pacquiao-Hatton on Twitter

May 02 2009 Published by Joey Alarilla under Sports

Check out my latest CNET Asia blog post.

Here’s an excerpt.

Filipino-American boxer Brian Viloria, who recently became a world champion again when he won the International Boxing Federation light flyweight crown, is really into Twitter. As I mentioned in a previous blog post, he might be the first world boxing champ to tweet his victory shortly after winning his bout.

Now, Viloria is using Twitter to cover the fight millions of boxing fans around the globe are waiting for, as the Philippines’ Manny “Pac-Man” Pacquiao, the pound-for-pound best boxer in the world, clashes with Britain’s pride and joy, Ricky “the Hitman” Hatton, in Las Vegas this Sunday, May 3 (Manila time).

Here’s a poll. Vote now!

Follow Brian Viloria for his Twitter coverage of Pacquiao-Hatton. Go, Manny! Pac-Man will beat the Hitman!
