Sure, CNN and Facebook have teamed up before for the historic inauguration of US President Barack Obama, but as I previously blogged, the online coverage of the Michael Jackson memorial is expected to become the biggest Web event in history.

Thousands of Michael Jackson fans will converge at the Staples Center in Los Angeles for the public memorial service on Tuesday morning, July 7 in the US, even as millions around the world are expected to watch the live video stream from different media outlets. News of Jackson’s death slowed down the Web, but the public memorial will be the real acid test as it’s expected to be the biggest Web event in history.
