Well, Jericho is one of the top stars of the WWE and is currently a heel (a wrestler playing a villainous character) who is one half of the Unified Tag Team Champions along with The Big Show.

Apparently, someone started a meme on whether Chris Jericho is better than Chuck Norris. You know how the Chuck Norris thing goes, right?

Anyway, Jericho is on Twitter and has over 30, 000 Twitters, and a lot of people who saw that Chris Jericho is the top Trending Topic are now tweeting various Chris Jericho-related updates.

Guess this is further proof oh how much cooler Jericho is than fellow WWE pro wrestler The Miz (Jericho is on the SmackDown brand, by the way, while The Miz is on Raw), with whom Jericho has been a engaging a mock Twitter war, with each putting the other down with insults, as I previously blogged for CNET Asia.

Jericho was one of the WWE Superstars who visited Manila during last month’s SmackDown/ECW Live house show at the Araneta Coliseum. You can check out some video clips from that house show here.

The moment it was announced that National Basketball Association superstar Shaquille O’Neal of the Cleveland Cavaliers was going to be the guest host on World Wrestling Entertainment’s Monday Night Raw, you had to know he was going to square off against “the world’s largest athlete,” The Big Show.

Well, Raw didn’t disappoint, and Shaq, a huge pro wrestling fan (in more ways than one, heh), was very entertaining and looked like he felt right at home. Maybe we’ll see him involved in WrestleMania 26 next year.

Here’s a clip of the opening segment. Shaq had a hilarious confrontation with Chris Jericho, who is one half of the WWE Unified Tag Team Champions. Jericho handpicked The Big Show to be his new tag team partner at the just-concluded Night of Champions pay-per-view, to replace his original co-champion Edge, who will be sidelined for months after undergoing surgery for a torn Achilles tendon. Yup, that’s a real-life injury, not a storyline one.

And here’s the epic encounter. Will The Big Show chokeslam Shaq?

By the way, in related news, Shaq wanted to find out if he was famous enough to just go to the White House (Raw was held in Washington, D.C.) and meet US President Barack Obama without an appointment. He tweeted that he was going to try it after landing in D.C. on Sunday to host Raw the following day.

Anyway, like me, a lot of the people in last night’s crowd seem to be big Chris Jericho fans, based on this account from reader Ramon Miguel Cervantes at ProWrestling.net.

Here’s an excerpt from his ProWrestling.net report.

Jericho came out to a great pop. Seriously, there were so many fans that love him here. I brought a sign that said “SD! is Jericho” and he smirked when he saw it. There were Y2J chants that were very loud. He tried to cut a heel promo (the same “You can _____ all you want because you’re all hypocrites, I’m the best in the world at what I do, I guarantee you won’t see the 619 and I will unmask him” stuff) but we were still cheering for him. A lot of signs that read, “Hypocrite,” with an arrow pointing to themselves were in the arena. You could see it in his face, he was genuinely surprised to be so over. Rey got a nice response too. He said hi to a few masked fans. Steamboat was well respected as well.

Professional wrestler Chris Jericho has been posting Twitter updates on his Philippine visit for World Wrestling Entertainment’s SmackDown/ECW Live house show that will be held tonight at the Araneta Coliseum.

Jericho, who is @IAmJericho on Twitter, arrived in the Philippines yesterday from Japan, where they also held shows as part of the SmackDown/ECW Live tour in Asia. The Philippine visit was made possible in partnership with Jack TV, the cable channel that airs WWE programming in the country.

I guess some fans can’t distinguish between Chris Jericho the real person (Christopher Keith Irvine in real life) and Chris Jericho the heel character.

Found out about this from Kevin Eck’s Ring Posts wrestling blog for the Baltimore Sun.  Jericho was assaulted by some fans outside the arena after a house show in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.
